Begin dialouge:
"So why are you here?"
"Oh, I'm here studying abroad at the University of Westminster."
"What are you studying?"
"Well I'm actually studying Marketing while here, but my major in Nebraska is Hospitality and Advertising"
"Why'd you choose to come to London then?"
"Because they speak English here."
End dialogue.
Yes, that is pretty much what the majority of my conversations with the locals have been since I've arrived in London, give or take a few questions, maybe with longer answers, but you get the point. When you hear me talk, there is no denying that I'm American. Hell, I can't even fake a good British accent. Because of that, locals are automatically interested in asking what I'm doing here in London. Being from the Midwest, I automatically want to give them my entire life story because I'm waaaaayyy too friendly! Luckily, I've gotten it down to the above dialogue.
However, since you decided to navigate all the way around the internet and landed upon my little blog, I'm going to give you my entire life story and then we can become best friends!
It all started on a bright and sunny day in May of 1993.............
Just kidding....
But really, the reason I'm currently in London is because I've decided to take a semester and study abroad at the University of Westminster. Back home (Nebraska, United States) I am a junior at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, studying Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management and also Advertising and Public Relations. I also have a bunch of minors but those aren't important. The important thing to know is I can never make up my mind. This is the reason I'm here. I don't know what I want to do with my life. I figured that by coming to London and sending myself through the most intense culture shock of my life would help me to have some sort of crazy epiphany and all of a sudden I would know exactly what I'm destined to do. Not quite sure it works that way... but it's worth a shot.
So, while I'm here, I've decided to share all of my feelings and experiences with the people of the interweb in this quaint little blog. You're welcome. From this day(night) forward, I plan on posting all of the nitty-gritty details of my London living on this blog. Everything from places I go, things I eat, and people I meet. You may also see an occasional video of myself and my crazy American flatmates. Once again, you're welcome.
Until next time...

(PS - I did also actually choose to come here because they speak English. There is no way in heck that I was going somewhere that I could potentially drastically offend someone and not even do it on purpose)
